This is a yummy alterative to a sweet treat.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
Pinch of salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. margarine
7 tbsp. of milk
Combine all the dry ingredients a mixing bowl. Use a fork to combine margarine and milk. Stir until the lumps are gone. Form a one inch thick loaf. Put the dough into a frying pan. Bake over low flame. Cook 8 to 10 minutes on each side.
Or divide into fist size balls. Give each camper a ball of dough to wrap on a roasting stick. Roast over the hot coals of the fire.
Eat the Bannock while warm, plain or with butter, jam, or peanut butter.
Pineapple Donut Cakes
No mess upside down cake
Ingredients:
Plain cake donuts
Pineapple rings
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
Slice donut in half. Place pineapple rings on one half. Pack brown sugar on top of the pineapple and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Place other half of donut on top and wrap them well in tin foil and bake in the hot coals of the fire. Heat for 10-15 minutes.
Campfire Pie Tortillas
What could be better then a pie wrap?
Ingredients:
Tortillas
Pie filling – pick your favourite
Chocolate chips
Mini-marshmallows
Peanut butter
Open the cans and put a spoon in each one. Tear off squares of aluminium foil. Put a tortilla on the square of foil. Add peanut butter or pie filling. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Fold the tortilla edges in and roll. Wrap them well in tin foil and bake in the hot coals of the fire.
Smores
Put a marshmallow on a stick and hold it over the fire until it is just right, then get two graham crackers and two pieces of chocolate; put the chocolate in between the crackers and slide the marshmallow on and you have a smore.
Fried Pies
You'll need 1 can biscuit mix and 1 can of your favorite pie filling (apples, peaches, cherry). Roll the biscuits out to about six inches or so. Put a tablespoon or two of pie filling into biscuit and fold over pressing edges close with a fork. Brown in a skillet in some butter and when golden brown sprinkle with powered sugar. Homemade pie right at the campsite.
Orange Brownies
Take an orange, and cut about half an inch off the top, keep the top. Take a spoon and scrape out the insides, then fill the orange with brownie mix. Put the top back on the brownie and completely cover the orange in foil. Then let the orange cook in the coals for about 20 minutes or until the brownie is done. Enjoy the brownie.
Mock Toasted Angel Cake
Place day old bread squares on a stick. Dip squares in sweetened condensed milk, then in coconut and toast over fire.
Fudge
Place 1/2 cup cocoa, 1 stick margarine, 3 ounces cream cheese, 1 box powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla into a gallon Ziploc baggie. Squeeze all the air out of the bag and seal. Place this bag inside another gallon Ziploc baggie, squeeze out the air and seal. Make sure each bag is sealed. This is the fun part...pass the bag aorund ot get squished until it's all blended. Flatten the bag and drop into a cooler of ice. When it's solid...it's ready to eat.

Chocolate-Raspberry Burrito
Simply sprinkle dark chocolate chips over raspberry jam in a tortilla wrapped in foil and toast on warm rocks near coals.
Orange Cake Mix
Slice the top of the number off your oranges and scoop out the flesh. Fill each orange with prepared cake mix being careful to leave enough room for rising. We filled ours just over half way and that seemed to do the trick. Wrap in foil and tuck in hot coals for around 20 minutes, turning occasionally. Let cool and enjoy.
Tropical Trooper Option:

Better then a chocolate bar and a lot more fun.
Ingredients:
Peanut butter
Flour tortillas
Miniature marshmallows

Spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on each tortilla. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of marshmallows and 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips on half of each tortilla. Wrap them well in tin foil and bake in the hot coals of the fire about for 5 to 10 minutes. Unwrap and eat.
